Time To Catch Up!

Sorry for not blogging lately (not that a lot of people read this anyway...but in hopes that they do)...September has been a wild and crazy month for us...for ALL of us!

I really don't know where to begin and I really don't want to drag on...so I will start with...

1. My annual "Girls Trip" to Perdido Key was great, unfortunately it was during the hurricane and I couldn't get home until Monday. My friend (Shasta) and I left on Thursday and I returned on Monday. I very much underestimated the storm...Hurricane Ike...we did not have any damage to our house...but we were without electricity for 4 days which is not bad considering some of Houston still does not have power. Girls trip was a lot of fun...I love catching up on all of the gossip I miss throughout the year...my head hurt from all of the information...THANKS GIRLS!

Pic of the girls...except Mel & Shasta!

Courtney, Me & Mica

Pic of our condo...which was AWESOME...it had four bedrooms and each bedroom had it's own bathroom (which is perfect with 10 girls)...it was almost 3400 square feet and it was incredible!

2. The kids were off of school for almost two weeks because of Hurricane Ike! The kids returned to school on Wednesday, September 24..which was yesterday. It really messed everything up...darn that Hurricane Ike. The kids were just getting into the school schedule and soccer was getting ready to start and then at a drop of a hat everything stopped. The soccer field where Jacob and Allyse play soccer were really messed up so it will be a while before we start up soccer...and when they do I will post pics...can't wait!

3. On September 19, Mike and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. We had planned a trip to Denver, Colorado for four nights and five days. Mike had a conference in Denver and thought I should tag along...which I thought was a great idea. My parents watched Jacob and Allyse for us...THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM AND DAD!!!! It was nice to get away...but i will tell you what I have learned...not that I didn't know this before, but I feel even stronger about it now....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE STAYING HOME WITH MY CHILDREN. I know some people don't understand what that means...but I can't imagine myself anywhere but home with my kids. I am VERY grateful that financially Mike and I can make that decision. I met a woman at the conference with 3 kids and she travels 300 days out to the year and her husband works as well. I couldn't image that! It is so important to me that I am home when me kids get home from school (even if they don't always want to talk to me)...it's the best job in the world!!!!!

4. Halloween is approaching and anyone who knows me well... knows that I LOVE Halloween...so hopefully next week I can start decorating...YEAH!!!!!

I guess that is it for now I will leave you with a pic I took of Allyse a couple of weeks ago when she was having a bad morning...I wanted to take a pic of her with her curly hair...but she didn't think it was such a good idea....

Allyse is lovely with her curly hair! :) And your girls' trip seems like such a fun thing to do - what a neat way to keep in touch with friends. I agree with you about staying home with my kids, I wouldn't want it to be any other way. Just like you, I feel very fortunate to do so.

Tell Allyse that she is very beautiful either way...curly or straight hair!
Glad you did get to enjoy your "girls trip", and your trip to Denver with Mike.
It is good to get away for a while even though you prefer to be home with the kids.
Hugs and Kisses to ALL!

Dawn, I DO read your blogs. I'm just not good at commenting. I'll try to do better. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip with the "girls". Me and my 3 girlfriends are going to Pensacola in February to celebrating the last of the 4 of us to retire! We plan to have a great time.

I know what you mean about wanting to stay home with your kids. When my were little, I felt the same way. It was hard to go off and leave them for any length of time. But I did enjoy the trips nonetheless. Once they are older, or even grown, you will enjoy your trips with Mike much more. There's a season for everything, and you'll have plenty of time for travel as you get older. But, at the same time, don't pass up the great opportunities you'll get to spend just some alone time with Mike. It is very needed in marriages these days! Tell Allyse that I love her curls. Makes her look older. Looking forward to pics of Jacob.
