Two Friday's ago the kids and I went "blueberry picking" with some of Allyse's Daisy friends. Our Troop Leader, Rachel, and I took the kids up to Conroe, Texas to go blueberry picking. We left at 8:00 in the morning to beat the heat...or so we thought so. By 10:00 that morning and only 20 minutes of blueberry picking...we were drenched in sweat....YUCK! There was a little Sno-Cone stand right on the property...which was perfect....it was exactly what we needed. Although HOT...the kids and I had a blast!

Last Day of School!!!!

I cannot believe how much this past school year has dragged on and on and on.....you get my point. I thought this was going to be an easy year with Allyse being in Kindergarten...but I was WRONG! Although this year has been long it has also been a great year. This was the first year that Jacob took the TAKS test. I think that is part of the reason for the long year, it's drilled into their heads...Pass the TAKS test...Pass the TAKS test. I think I was more stressed out about him passing the test then he was.....that being said I am a proud Mom....Jacob was "commended" on both his Reading and Math TASKS test. He missed only 1 question on his Math TAKS...we are so proud of him. He made all A's and B's on his report card all year. Ms. Allyse did wonderful in Kindergarten as well. She made all E's on her report card all year :)

This does make a mom and dad very proud :)

Allyse's Kindergarten teacher approached me the last month of school and asked if maybe I could put together a t-shirt for the kids for the last day of school. Her name is Mrs. Rozell and she wanted something fun. Another mom and I came up with "Rockin Rozell's Class of 2009". We had the kids bring in fun things like sunglasses and boas to take the picture and then we formatted it to the t-shirt. The last day of school they got to sign their name on the back of EACH shirt, which only took 3 hours...LOL! The shirts came out so cute and made the last day very special :)

These are pics from a birthday party of a little girl in Allyse's dancing class. Believe it or not this place it right in the middle of town...who know there would be horses and goats and chickens right around the corner...LOL

Gooooo Scrappers!!!!!

Jacob's baseball team placed 2nd in our 9U A bracket for The Farm League!!!! This did happen a couple of weekends ago but I have not blogged at all....

The weekend started off on a Saturday night baseball game. The game ended at 10:30...yes...at night...that was our first game of the weekend and if we won that one we had to play the next day at 11 am. Well...we won that one also...so we had a double header and played the "Mudcats" for the final championship....

We didn't win that game but however...we came in 2nd place. What a huge success it was for them. Although I think they were too tired to realize how well they did. They played 3 games within 20 hours. Toward the end of the last game, Jacob was playing catcher and he wouldn't even stand up to throw the ball back to the pitcher...he was just totally exhausted :P

My Little Man is Color Blind

AHHHHH....what a story. Last Thursday afternoon I brought Jacob and Allyse to the eye doctor for their first "official" eye check up. Although they have had eye exams at school....my eye doctor really wanted to check them being that both Mike and I wear glasses. She also wanted to make sure their eye's were healthy. So last year Mike added them to our Vision Plan. As you may know Jacob had a beautiful black eye around 3-4 weeks ago. And I though now would be a good time to do it :)

While Jacob was in the chair she pulled out a white card and I asked her if it was the "color blind test"....she turned around and said..."no, why". I told her that my dad was color blind...and she said "your kidding". So she went to the other room to get the book for the color blind test. After about 4 mins or so...she turned to me and said...he is definitely color blind. I have seen the test before and I heard him saying..."nothing, nothing" and I know most of the test is numbers...so I was getting nervous. The doctor explained to me how is gets passed down. My dad is color blind, which means my grandmother (his mom) passed it down to him but the mother is usually NOT color blind, and then passes that gene onto the son....and so on.

So since last Thursday I have been testing him on everything..."what's the color of this" "what color is my shirt". He has gotten everything right! I have been trying to prove her wrong. Last night I pulled up a website and did some research and had Jacob try the test again....and well....he failed!!!! He didn't see the numbers or shapes at all. He tried really hard and sometimes he was close to the number...but mostly he would just stare at it :(
The test said for the person to say the number or object in 3 seconds...and Allyse was standing right next to me and would say the numbers in my ear...she saw them right away...as for Jacob...he was clueless.

This past weekend the "Fam" went to the Astros game with our next door neighbors, "The Pellerin's". They just moved here from Baton Rough, Louisiana (hence the LSU hat) and have never been to an Astros game. Although the weather has "horrible" we decided to drive downtown anyway. After being in our seats for about 10 mins we were approached by some guy who works for the Astros and asked if any of us were interested in entering a Mac-N-Cheese contest sponsored by Luby's. For my Louisiana readers, Luby's is like Picadilly. The winner would receive a $50 gift certificate to Luby's and the two remaining contestants would each receive a $25 gift certificate! The game was on!!!! Chris (our neighbor), Mike and a guy sitting in the front of us were the three contestants. My money was on Chris because 1) he is crazy and 2) Mike is a VERY slow eater! Anyway...neither Mike or Chris won...but it was blast to watch! I have some pics that I took from the seats.....

Allyse had to do a project for Daisy's this week. She had to make an Easter Basket out of recycled materials. This was a last minute project for us...so unfortunately I did most of the work...but she picket out the supplies. We meet at Meyer Park for an Easter Egg Hunt and then they picked up trash as their service project. Allyse had a wonderful time :)

Friday night my neighbor Karen and I took our kids to see the new Jonas Brothers Concert in 3D! Allyse and Jacob had a blast! I forgot to take my camera...of course!

That is pretty much all the excitement that we had this weekend. We didn't have any baseball games this weekend...no cub scout or Daisy outings. It is nice once and a while to not do anything. Mike cut the grass on Saturday and then we went shopping for Mike and Allyse a new pair of shoes and then went out to dinner. Mike is leaving for Bogota today for a while and this is the last week of school before Spring Break...which I am very much looking forward to! I think the kids and I are going to go to Breaux Bridge for a little while during Spring Break and visit with family and friends!

On Saturday, February 21st Allyse's Daisy Troop took a trip to the Girl Scout facility for a "Princess Day". There were crafts set up for us at stations. We played games and took a little hike. It was a wonderful day! at the end of the day we let the girls roll down the hill...and Allyse said that was they best part of the day!

My little Camellia plant finally bloomed this year. A few months back my children were into picking acorns and one afternoon they came running in the house excited that they had found a bunch of acorns...well...when Mike looked in the bucket...they were not acorns..they were the buds on the Camilla plant. It's funny, because only the back is blooming because the kids picked most of the buds from the front.

As everyone knows...Jacob has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. This year he has finally made it to Kid ~ Pitch. Since we have moved to Texas we have been on the same team for 5 seasons now. Three regular seasons and two summer seasons...all of them being Coach Pitch. For the most part, our team has stayed together with a couple of kids leaving and new ones coming in. Sunday was Jacob's first game of the season and we happen to have a double header that day. We spent 8 hours at the ball park on Sunday...what a way to bring on the new season. We have a wonderful support staff of dads. The moms and I laughed on Sunday because there are almost as many dads helping out then there are boys! I was able to snap a couple of pictures before my battery died.

Jacob played 3rd base and Catcher on Sunday. He LOVES playing Catcher and is so cute in his catcher gear. The past four seasons the uniforms have been navy blue and gray...and our wonderful coach decided that this year they were going to be white! Yes...I said WHITE! They do look sharp in their little uniforms...I just hope they play as well as they look :).

It seems for whatever reason that I just can't get inspired to blog....so much has been going on so I will just make this quick and easy!

Jacob celebrated his "9th" Birthday on January 21st. He had is party at a skating rink and had lots of fun. I do have pics and once I load them to the computer I will post them.
This household had been sick since Christmas and it hasn't seemed to stop. We ALL had sinus infections and I was lucky to have 2! Allyse caught the flu last Sunday and has battled with it all week. We all took the flu shot, but for some reason Allyse caught it...they said it was a different strand. The flu is definitely going around our school...so I hope Jacob doesn't get it.
Allyse wanted her hair short so I took her to my stylist and she cut 3 1/2 inches off and Allyse looks adorable! It is so easy and much thicker now. I will also post pics of that soon.
Jacob had his Derby Car race for Cub Scouts this past Saturday and came in third place...unfortunately Allyse and I didn't get to go because I wanted Allyse to stay home and get rest.

Allyse's 6th Birthday

On January 10th, 2009, Allyse turned 6 years old! Yay!!!! She was so excited. She has been waiting to turn 6 since she turned 5...LOL! We had her birthday party at Build-A-Bear on Saturday and then cake and juice after in the food court of the mall. This year she invited all of her neighbor friends and she had a blast.

Now for the best day of the year...MIKE'S GRADUATION. Mike has been working on finishing his bachelor degree for about 2 1/2 years now and has finally finished. With lots of hard work and lots of sacrificing...he did it! And of course it was all worth it! (so now you see why I haven't blogged lately)

Mike graduated from University of Houston Downtown...and I forgot what his degree is in...(I will get back with you on that ) on Sunday, December 21st at 2:00. I am so proud of him for all of his hard work and dedication. He does want to go for his masters, but I think he is going to take a break.

After the graduation we went back home to have a little celebration with friends and family. Both, Mike and I, were overwhelmed with our family and friends who made an effort to celebrate with us. We are truly blessed to have such great family and friends. Mike's mom and dad come in from Lafayette, Louisiana and spent a couple of days with us and we very much appreciate them for doing that. Mike's Uncle Larry and Aunt Holly came down for the day from Midlothian, Texas to join us for the ceremony and party. My Aunt Nolia and Uncle Howard came from across Houston, my parents and brother and two sets of neighbors. I can't thank everyone enough for supporting and celebrating with us. I was truly overwhelmed with this wonderful day!

So if everyone has wondered if the Doiron's have disappeared from Earth..well we haven't...we have just been so busy. I have been working on Jacob and Allyse's school parities since the beginning of October. On December 18th...I finally made it! The parties took place on December 18th and it was the most exhausting day I have had all year. I love volunteering but I have to say...it was a long process. My wonderful husband took a vacation day to help me out that day....and I am so glad he did because I would have not made it through the day without him. The good news is the kids had a blast and Mike was able to snap a few photos for me...so here you go!

Christmas Wish Lists and Family Movie Night

Hello All ~ Sorry I have not blogged lately we have just been so busy. Mike has 2 more weeks of school and then Graduation!!!! We are so proud of his great accomplishment. With Graduation comes homework and finals...so he has been hard at work and hard at homework. It's almost over!

I have taken on Room Mom Coordinator at Jacob & Allyse's school. I am in charge of all the room moms for the entire school...and though I knew this would be a huge commitment...I really had no idea. I have had little time to Christmas shop or even clean house. I should have thought about the fact that Mike would be graduating in December and the Holiday Party I would be in charge of...I love volunteering...but I think I was a little over my head. Anyway...after December 18th (the party) I will defiantly be celebrating with a bottle of wine :)!

Jacob & Allyse have had so many things going on with Cub Scouts and Daisy's they are hard at work helping out around the community...I am so proud of them! Allyse is going caroling Friday night so stay tuned for pictures!

And now onto our family tradition...a Christmas Wish List. I have taken a picture of it so you everyone can see Allyse's list. She wants to learn to read and spell so bad...she works hard on spelling...so you will appreciate her list. These are the years you never get back!

Friday night J & A's school had their first "Family Movie Night". It was held in the cafeteria and they served hot chocolate and cookies. The movie was "The Polar Express". The kids had a blast. Mike was not able to make it because he has to finish his paper! Which he did! Here are some pictures from last Friday night!

We were outside one night with all the neighbors and we discovered Jacob might have a new talent. Of course in the beginning when I was filming...I didn't have my card in...so I couldn't save it...so he was pretty tired by the time I took this video...but it is still good! Mike and I hosted our 2nd annual "Leithcrest Way Halloween Party". We held it in our garage this year and everyone brought a food dish. The kids had a blast trick-r-treating...or so I heard (the men took the kids this year while the women stayed behind to hand out candy...and well drink a little wine)! The night was filled with food and great neighbors!

Fun Filled Weekend

This weekend...like every weekend since soccer season started...was really busy. I don't think I remember what we did on the weekends before soccer. The kids love playing...but the thing is that on some Saturdays their games are so spread out that it takes up our entire Saturday. Jacob has practice on Fridays and then games on Saturday...that's our whole weekend. Anyway...Jacob's game was at 10:30 and Allyse's game was at 3:30 so in between games we had some errands to run and we ended up at "Vintage Park" which is really not a park...it is just a small area of restaurants and shops. It's new to our area and they were having some Halloween activities for kids and adults. So we decided to stop by and let the kids paint pumpkins and make masks...they had so much fun!

Our Soccer Season finally started yesterday after a long delay because of Hurricane Ike. The kids were so excited to start their soccer games! Jacob's game started at 11:45 and Allyse's game started at 3:30. Jacob returned to his old soccer team from last year with a couple of new players. Allyse was on a new team this year. They both played so very well yesterday. Allyse got one goal (although I do not think they keep score at her age). Jacob did not get a goal yesterday, but played goalie and was GREAT! It was so nice to see Jacob enjoying himself as goalie! We took so many pics of them and so many came out great...so I had trouble choosing...but I will leave you with some pics from yesterday! "BOOING"

For the past couple of years we have had a tradition of "BOOING". The kids love to do this. I am sure most of you are familiar with this fun activity. We "BOOED" two of our neighbors...The Szot's & The Vegas'. We started it this year and hopefully it will go around quickly. The kids had a blast "ringing the doorbell and running". Although the kids were too scared to ring the doorbell...they made mommy do it...like I am the fastest runner in our family. tomorrow we get....CABLE!!!! Didn't think it would affect me so much...but I guess it has. At first when the satellite company told us how long it would be before they could come out and fix our satellite...we freaked out...but then we discovered it wasn't so bad. It has been three weeks since we have had cable...and frankly...I am soooo ready to watch TV...anything on TV would be fine right now...I will even watch Jerry Springer...if he is still on Television. So if any one you will be wondering where we will be this weekend (besides two soccer games and some yard work)....we will be planting our little behinds in front of the TV!!!!

Sorry for not blogging lately (not that a lot of people read this anyway...but in hopes that they do)...September has been a wild and crazy month for us...for ALL of us!

I really don't know where to begin and I really don't want to drag on...so I will start with...

1. My annual "Girls Trip" to Perdido Key was great, unfortunately it was during the hurricane and I couldn't get home until Monday. My friend (Shasta) and I left on Thursday and I returned on Monday. I very much underestimated the storm...Hurricane Ike...we did not have any damage to our house...but we were without electricity for 4 days which is not bad considering some of Houston still does not have power. Girls trip was a lot of fun...I love catching up on all of the gossip I miss throughout the year...my head hurt from all of the information...THANKS GIRLS!

Pic of our condo...which was AWESOME...it had four bedrooms and each bedroom had it's own bathroom (which is perfect with 10 girls)...it was almost 3400 square feet and it was incredible!

2. The kids were off of school for almost two weeks because of Hurricane Ike! The kids returned to school on Wednesday, September 24..which was yesterday. It really messed everything up...darn that Hurricane Ike. The kids were just getting into the school schedule and soccer was getting ready to start and then at a drop of a hat everything stopped. The soccer field where Jacob and Allyse play soccer were really messed up so it will be a while before we start up soccer...and when they do I will post pics...can't wait!

3. On September 19, Mike and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. We had planned a trip to Denver, Colorado for four nights and five days. Mike had a conference in Denver and thought I should tag along...which I thought was a great idea. My parents watched Jacob and Allyse for us...THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM AND DAD!!!! It was nice to get away...but i will tell you what I have learned...not that I didn't know this before, but I feel even stronger about it now....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE STAYING HOME WITH MY CHILDREN. I know some people don't understand what that means...but I can't imagine myself anywhere but home with my kids. I am VERY grateful that financially Mike and I can make that decision. I met a woman at the conference with 3 kids and she travels 300 days out to the year and her husband works as well. I couldn't image that! It is so important to me that I am home when me kids get home from school (even if they don't always want to talk to me)...it's the best job in the world!!!!!

4. Halloween is approaching and anyone who knows me well... knows that I LOVE Halloween...so hopefully next week I can start decorating...YEAH!!!!!

I know I haven't blogged lately...so much has been going on. We had company for Hurricane Gustav for a couple of days. My cousin Logan and her boyfriend Blake...my cousin Wayne and his wife Erika and their 7 week old baby...Isla...stayed with us for a couple of days while Hurricane Gustav made it's way through Louisiana! It was so nice to have them staying with us! I do miss those good ole' hurricane parties!

Mike traveled to Bogota, Colombia last week while we had a house full!

We are going on our 3rd week of school and Jacob has a ton of homework...not fun at all! Third grade will be a challenge for him! Allyse has had some projects...but is quick to get them done...unlike Mr. Jacob!

Michael and I went to a concert on Friday night to see one of my favorite bands...Maroon 5. They played at The Woodlands Pavilion...and it was great!

I have my annual "Girls' Trip" planned for this weekend in Perdido Key...but it looks like that might change!

Meet the Teacher...Mike...and Allyse!

Today was meet the Teacher at Frank Elem. Allyse and Jacob have been waiting for this day for about 1 week. Allyse woke up this morning at 7:30am and was already dressed and asked me what time were we going to "Meet the Teacher". Knowing that it wasn't until 2:00 pm today...I knew it was going to be a LONG day! Fortunately some of my neighbors had scheduled a playdate at McDonald's which made the day go by a lot faster then just staying home.

Since Allyse will be going to Kindergarten, Jacob was nice enough to let Allyse meet her teacher first. Allyse's teacher is Mrs. Rozell and Jacob's teachers are Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Raugh! They are so excited to start school on Monday! Which I guess is a good thing...not sure if I am ready though. I already started to tear up on the way from Allyse's classroom to Jacob's classroom. I just know I am going to be a mess on Monday! What will I do with myself? I remember crying the first week when Jacob started Pre-K at SBS. I even cried when I picked him up...next week will be rough for me!

On another note....a little news on Mike......
Two Fridays' ago Mike accepted a new job at Baker Hughes...I know it is in "Global Sales". Don't ask me too many questions I just know he will be in Sales and sometimes it will be Global. LOL! He is very excited about his new position!
Also...this will be Mike's LAST SEMESTER (whoo hooo!) at UofH (University of Houston). He will be graduating on December 18th...Hopefully...hehe! He was accepted into a field study program this semester which gives him 6 credits instead of 3 and he doesn't have to go to class! Which is a huge plus! I think I can hang in there 4 more months...I know it's hard on all of us. The kids really miss spending time with him when he is in school...but hopefully these last 4 months will go by pretty fast! So CONGRATULATIONS Mike! We love you!

One more thing...something Allyse said....
My friend Mica came to visit me this past weekend...Thanks Mica.....to help me celebrate my "30th" birthday. Mica and I were talking in the living room and Allyse joined in. Somehow we got started talking about Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. So Allyse runs to her room and comes back with her People magazine that featured just the Jonas Brothers (the magazine is fairly old...and it looks it..she reads/looks at it all the time). And I said "Allyse, where did you get that" (I had bought it for her, but hadn't seen it in forever) And she proceeds to say "IN MY PANTIE DRAWER"...Wow wasn't expecting that. I think Mica just about fell out of her chair. Hopefully it is as funny as it was that day. My child is 5...and already keeping magazines in her pantie drawer...I think I should be worried! Hopefully it was just a coincidence!

Allyse's First Dance Class

Ok...a quick post about Allyse's first dance class. I know I said I was going to take pics...but I forgot my camera...I was so upset. Anyway...she was VERY excited about her first dance class last Wednesday. She is taking Ballet/Tap/Jazz...and her classes do not start until 6:00 p.m. At 1:15 on Wednesday...she was already dressed...I tried to get her to change...but that was NOT going to happen. So needless to say...she stayed in her dancing outfit for 5 hours until dance class.

Jacob and I stayed to watch her for the first class and she did so well. All of the moms stayed and watched and being that so many moms were hogging the window...Jacob stood in the front and gave me reports. When it came time for Jazz...I heard the new Miley Cyrus song "Girls Just Want To Have Fun"...the remake of Cyndi Lauper. I had no choice but to push my way into the little crowd to see what she was going to do. The minute it came on...she couldn't keep her little butt still...it was just so cute! She kept looking at us and smiling! Wish I had my camera :(!

One Year Ago...

Allyse had her ears pierced at Libby Lu's. She had wanted her ears pierced for a long time...but I always put it off. So last August at a Birthday Party at Libby Lu's...I found out that they pierced both ears at once. So I decided to let her do it! As you can tell by the pictures...she had no idea what to expect! I felt HORRIBLE! Needless to say she loved them just 5 minutes later (and after a chocolate chip cookie from the Cookie Co.) and has NEVER complained about them. She absolutely loves her ears pierced...she is such a big girl.

Allyse starts Dance classes

Allyse will be starting a new dance school on Wednesday and is SUPER excited! She will be taking Ballet/Tap/Jazz. When we lived in Breaux Bridge I had just put her in dancing and then two months later we were transferred to Texas. She had only had 5 or 6 classes before we moved. She was so sad :(! And when we moved to Texas I was not sure where to put her. So after lots of research I have decided to put her into a dancing school that is right in front of our subdivision...which works great for me! I have heard so many great things about this dance school and I think Allyse will have so much fun there! Stay tuned for pics of her "big night"!

Tropical Storm Edouard

So apparently we (Houston) are going to see lots of rain and wind over the next couple of days! I am not looking forward to the power going out! Yesterday evening it rained her for about 30 mins or so...maybe not even that long...and the power went out for 2 hours....SO I KNOW WE WILL BE WITHOUT POWER for a while...which means...we will be HOT!

The news coverage here is out of control! Edouard is just a Tropical Storm and you could swear that the world is coming to an end! I know precautions are good to take...but really!

Dress Up Day ~ AGAIN!

Allyse played dress up today...I am not sure she is "playing"...she takes it very seriously. The minute she got out of bed this morning I could here her doing something in her room...when she came out she was dressed in her pink Power Ranger costume from last Halloween. She stayed in that most of the day. I did forget to take a pic. But then this afternoon she walked out of her room in this....

Not sure what look she was going for...it is unique that's for sure!

I hope my cousin Wayne and his wife Erika do mind me doing this post...but Baby Isla has been on my mind all day and what better way for me to share it with everyone...blog time!

Wayne and Erika (or should I say just Erika) brought beautiful Isla into this world yesterday at 3:55 pm. Of course I was not there (Lafayette), but thought and prayed for Erika and the baby all day. I can not wait to meet her. Congratulations!

Well...I was having trouble with my other layout for my blog...so I had to change it. I really liked my old layout...but there is so many to choose from...there is no reason to stick to just one!

We are leaving for vacation next Saturday...July 19th for a week and the kids are really getting excited. We are going to Gulf Shores. Thanks to my In-Laws we will get to go the beach for a week. The only bad thing is that it will take us FOREVER and a months salary in gas to get there...ha ha! I found out yesterday that our good friends...The Boudreaux's will be at the beach the same week as us...so we will get to spend some time with them as well!!!! So I am really excited about that!

Yesterday our neighbors graciously hosted 4th of July this year! Amber and Scott Stoker organized our "Block Party" this year and everyone had a wonderful time. Unfortunately Jacob has not been feeling too well (not sure what's going on) so I took him home early to rest.

Boy Scout Camp

Last week Jacob attended Boy Scout Camp in Conroe. They went Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Every morning we met at school for 6:55 a.m. and the boys came back at 2:00 that afternoon. Although the days were long...Jacob had a blast! The whole reason why Jacob joined Cub Scouts was to go to this camp...they got to shoot bow and arrows...BB guns..you name it they did it!

There has not been too much excitement around the Doiron house lately. However...we came home Saturday afternoon from shopping and found a "SOLD" sign in the empty lot to the left of us. We have lived here for 1 1/2 years and no one has bought this lot. Although it has been great not having neighbors...we are tired of seeing the lot empty and yucky! I just hope they will be good neighbors!
Sunday night Jacob was supposed to have a double header...but they both got rained out. They did however play one inning and the game is tied at 5 runs. We are going to continue the game on Wednesday...so I will give you an update! I snapped a few pics before the rain came!

Mike & I purchased a new camera last night...so as soon as we learn how to work it and load them on the computer I will post some pics!

We also got each of the kids new bikes last night. Jacob's reward for getting all A's & B's on his report card was a new bike for the summer. I will post pics of that as well!

This past week has been a little crazy. Jacob had baseball camp all week up in The Woodlands and baseball games almost every night. Galveston Trip

Mike and I took the kids to Galveston on Friday afternoon. We only stayed one night because Mike had a lot of homework for his summer class. It took us 3 hours to get there instead of 1 1/2 hours due to traffic. After arriving at our "fabulous hotel"...(not close).....we walked down to the beach to let the kids run around a bit. Then we went to "The Rainforest Cafe" where we spent half of the kids college tuition...LOL! I am saying that because they sure know how to get you. There was an hour wait...but we knew that anywhere we would go we would have to wait. So in the meantime we decided to ride "The Rainforest River Adventure Ride" which was $6 a person for about 6 minutes. Then on the way out of the ride you step right into Build A Bear...how convenient!!!! We definitely spent a lot of money while waiting!

Saturday morning Jacob woke us up at 6:50 asking when were we going to the beach...of course! So we packed up and headed to the beach! The kids had a blast and so did mom and dad! The water is muddy and the beach is dirty...but it was fun while it lasted! Oh...and my camera broke while we were there. The lens shutter got stuck...so when I turned on the camera the lens would not stay open...so Mike told me to take the picture upside down and just rotate it when I loaded the pics on the computer. It worked!!!! The pics did not turn out great....but they will have to do....Enjoy the pics!

Last Friday Mike went fishing in Galveston and caught a Kingfish. Some of the guys from work and customers of course, chartered a boat for a fishing tournament. He left at 3:30 Friday morning and didn't get home until 9:30 that night. Don't ask me the size or the weight or if he placed...I don't know any of that stuff...I just thought I would share the pic! LOL!!!

Last Day of 2nd Grade

Today was Jacob's last day of school. Allyse and I spent the afternoon with his class. We brought him Chick-Fil-A for lunch and Allyse got to play on the playground for recess with all of 2nd grade. Then we went inside to have Ice Cream Sunday's and to give the teachers their gifts!

First Blog

Ok here it goes...I have wanted to start a blog for sometime now and just haven't gotten around to it. Since we have moved to Texas and away from some of our family I thought now would be a great time to do it. This blog stuff is new to me so please bare with me if I make a mistake...and I am sure I will make lots!

I will start off with Jacob...
Jacob has 3 more days left of school and will be going into the 3rd grade next year. He has made all A's & B's this year and is doing great in school. He has continued to play in a baseball league since we have moved here. His baseball team is called the Scrappers. They have been together
since January of 2007. The team has stayed together since then, picking up and losing some on the way. He has played one season of soccer here in Spring, but would like to play Flag Football this Fall instead of soccer. So we shall see!
Jacob joined Cub Scouts this year for the first time and is LOVING every minute. Mike and Jacob went on a camping trip with the Pack on Labor Day weekend and had a blast! Allyse and I were unable to go because she had Strep Throat! Last Thursday he crossed over from a Wolf to a Bear. We are so proud of him!

Allyse is probably the funniest person I know ( I know... that's bad that a 5 year old is the funniest person I know...but it is true). She just graduated from Pre-K, but was unable to make her graduation because she had Strep Throat. She will be going to "the big school" next year with Jacob and is VERY excited! She also played soccer last Fall and is hoping to play again this coming Fall. There are so many stories I could tell you about Allyse, but there is too many for me to write. So when she says or does something funny I promise I will post it!
